Block and counter – Musical Instrument, Weapon of War
Handling the hits and blows dished out by life, through music.
Most of us know the story in the Bible about King David. King David was a songwriter, loved music, became a musician and a warrior. His people praised him for slaying the giant and being victorious battle after battle. Saul hated David because of this and tried to kill David.
Through playing the harp he calmed Saul and through music possibly saved his own life. Through music David fought many battles and did not only reign victorious over physical battles but he won many mental battles through writing, playing and singing songs.
Why Music changed my life.
So far my life played out on a very active battleground. Since my early childhood I had to fight the battle of rejection. Rejection can leave painful wounds in your soul, but can be soothed by music. As a child my ‘happy place’ was in front of our hi-fi system, playing my favourite songs over and over. My parents thought it good to buy me a Casio electronic keyboard.
I spent hours after hours with my keyboard, fiddling and making noise that would drive any person insane. The more I played the more the storm of notes made sense to the brain end ears. Later on the notes became pleasing to the ears and started to come forth from the inner most painful areas of the heart.
The moment you discover how to make music, you discover how to interpret emotions and feeling that you cannot describe through words. Gaining more experience in creating music through feeling and hearing, will help you to create songs and music that speaks to the heart.
When music speaks to the heart it heals, it soothes, it excites and makes every heartbeat, every second, and every breath better.
Making music helped me through the years to win many mental and physical battles. From these battles came forth songs that not only lifted me but helped others through difficult times. The joy that can be created by music can overshadow any trial or tribulation that can come your way.
Picking up an instrument, might change your live forever. It can cause you to find a way to constructively deal with problems and emotions. The joy that it deposits in your life can enrich every second of your life as well as other people that hears it.
All of this can happen the moment you pick up an instrument and decide to learn to play it. It takes hard work and dedication to master the instrument. When that instrument connects with your soul it will touch you in a way that is indescribable.
